Local pair of mute swan’s in Georgian Bay greet each other.
Well Mother Nature has finally allowed us to get some racing in so far this season. Hopefully she will allow for more door to door action on the weekends this season. This year I’m travelling around with Hawn Motorsports but also taking pics of the other classes that are running on the various tracks on those evenings.
Getting older is making it tough to get out to the tracks and actually enjoy myself while I’m there. Walking back and forth up and down the pits isn’t very Dan friendly, I love meeting new people and talking to my extended racing family. I generally plant my sorry butt down somewhere and hang out there for the night and in some cases most of the night.
Camping at the tracks is great now that we have our travel trailer and F-150 to get it places, I can take a load off the body sooner than driving home in pain. My constant back pain from my neck down to my right foot just nags at me and worsens as the evening progresses. My photography is the next best thing seeing as I had to hang up my racing shoes quite some time ago. I do get the itch quite often to jump back in the seat for a night though but I’m sure I’d pay for it the next day or even week. I can keep dreaming though and hopefully some day doctors will have something they can do for me other than these epidurals and nerve blocks every two weeks.
Until then I’ll see you at the races.
